In the Holy name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Compassionate.

Thanks be to Almighty Allah, and peace and blessings be on the prophet, his family, his closest companions and those who follow his teachings to the final day.

Speaker of the venerable National Assembly,
Esteemed members,

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

I am pleased, as we wrap up the second session of the thirteenth legislative term, to convey on my behalf and on behalf of Cabinet members our sincere best wishes and felicitations on your accomplishments at this parliamentary session, and I am honoured, on this occasion, to convey to His Highness the Amir our gratitude and appreciation for his endless support through his wise directives and sound opinions in tackling obstacles and challenges confronting our national action. I am also pleased to express to His Highness the Crown Prince our appreciation and sincere satisfaction for his kind support and invaluable advice.

Speaker of the venerable National Assembly,
Esteemed members,

Today, we observe the many achievements during this session, which we hope will fulfill our needs and expectations. We look forward to it being an incentive for exerting further constructive effort to attain our aspirations. This responsibility lies with both the assembly and government.

The government, throughout the parliamentary term, has followed its actions by implementing its development programme on all levels. It has also submitted to your venerable assembly a number of draft laws which gratefully, the assembly has endorsed; beginning with the approval of the budgets for public authorities and institutes through to the approval of the state balance sheet.

In the framework of monitoring government action, your venerable assembly has witnessed sessions charged with constructive discussions in raising the visions and solutions to various issues and problems we have encountered, as well as the recommendations concerning a range of petitions and complaints.

The government has been keen to listen attentively to comments from members of the assembly, accepting wholeheartedly, all constructive criticism in response to any issue serving the public interest. It has also responded to any suggestions submitted by the esteemed members in belief of the necessity for positive cooperation to enhance the national resolve for joint action as a means of achieving development objectives that serve the country and its people.

Esteemed members,

We are in dire need today, as matters stand, to calmly examine the situation where rapprochement of visions and efforts meet to confront what awaits us, so that we are able to endure the burden of a phase laden with internal and external concerns. No one in their right mind can ignore its consequences or the security, political and economic demands. This places the government and assembly before a historical responsibility of collective action to drive construction and reform towards realizing the national objectives.

Speaker of the venerable National Assembly,
Esteemed members,

At this closing session, I can only express, on behalf of cabinet ministers and my own behalf, our sincere gratitude to the speaker, members, commissions, secretariat, advisors and all employees of the national assembly for their efforts and accomplishments, as well as to the media in all its forms, whom covered assembly sessions, wishing them every success in delivering their national duty professionally and with integrity. I pray to the Almighty for your success and a joyful recess, and that He may unite our word at the start of the next term.

We ask the Almighty for security and prosperity for our country under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince.

Wassalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh.
