  20th January 2019

In the name of Allah the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

His Excellency Ali Abdul Aal, Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives,

Members of the accompanying delegation,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

It’s my pleasure to extend my sincere welcome to the guests of Kuwait, His Excellency Dr. Ali Abdul Aal, Chairman of the Egyptian House of Representatives, and his accompanying delegation. I would like to express my heartfelt pride in this visit, that reflects the brotherly relations between our two peoples. Welcome amongst your family and friends in Kuwait.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The relations between Egypt and Kuwait have always been characterized by sincere ties of friendship, love and deep ties of brotherhood. We share common culture, language, history and destiny, and our relationship is a brotherly relationship based on the bonds of kinship, not just a friendship based on interests. We are very proud of this relationship that started from the very beginning on mutual respect and understanding. Egypt is the big sister who spread the lights of thought and culture to illuminate the skies of the Arab nation. From Egypt, convoys of science and knowledge were sent to spread education and awareness in different parts of the Arab nation. Kuwaitis will never forget the role of the first Egyptian teachers and experts in various scientific and technical domains. They came to the State of Kuwait and contributed to the establishment of the Kuwaiti renaissance. We thank them from the bottom of our heart.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Egypt has occupied and will continue to occupy a prestigious place in our hearts. It is the core of the Arab system. This is not only due to its military strength or its regional and international position, but also to the size of sacrifices it made for the sake of its Arab brothers throughout history, to its pioneering role in the dissemination of the Arab culture and the industry of thought and creativity, to its experience in building the model of the modern Arab State, and to the large names that contributed to the project of the Arab Renaissance, all of which gave Egypt a special place in the hearts of all Kuwaitis.

Distinguished guests,

I cannot fail but to mention the special nature of the visit of His Excellency Dr. Ali Abdul Aal. He is not just a guest visiting us like other official guests whom we are happy to meet in Kuwait. He is a very special guest who has left, by his knowledge and expertise, a clear imprint in the State of Kuwait and played a prominent role in enriching the legal and constitutional arena of Kuwait. A friendship has tied us together for more than a decade. We worked together closely in the Amiri Diwan and the Diwan of the Prime Minister. The nature of work needed intensive and continuous meetings, which made the relationship between us solid and based on trust. He is one of the distinguished experts of Egypt and the State of Kuwait benefited greatly from his knowledge in law and legislation.

Dear Guest,

I would like to reiterate my warm welcome to you and to the members of your accompanying delegation, and I assure you that I am very proud of this visit and wish you a pleasant stay in your second country, the State of Kuwait.
